Yahoo! produces viral films to push mobile OneSearch

Yahoo! has rolled out a multi-platform marketing campaign to support its mobile search service.

The ‘Will Harry date Sally?’ campaign comprises a series of viral films available online and on mobile with Yahoo! product placement.

Viewers are encouraged to send an SMS to vote for what happens in the next episode. They can also offer script suggestions or volunteer to appear in future episodes.

A Yahoo! spokeswoman said the campaign was designed to show consumers how simple it was to access the OneSearch service.

“It’s about promoting OneSearch on mobile to show consumers they’re just a click away from accessing the service,” she said. “We’re always looking to innovate and it’s a trial to see how interactive we can make things and if consumers want to take part.”
