Web advertising overtakes television

September 30, 2009 - 3:02:41

For the first time, online advertising expenditure has overtaken that of TV.

Figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers show a rise of 4.6% to £82m from mid-2008 to mid-2009 - recession-defying growth when the sector itself contracted by 16% during the same period.

Some key drivers for this growth are thought to be the unique level of measurability that web advertising affords a business. It's possible to gauge the effectiveness of a campaign, adjust it for maximum impact, and then pay-on-results - unlike off-line media.

The increase in broadband internet speeds, not only in homes but in offices too, has resulted in a widespread increase in the consumption of online video and has seen advertisers keen to try out these kind of approaches.

As a digital production company, Big Button produce the content that makes this revolution possible. Award-winning film & visual effects, web-based campaigns and cutting-edge online video delivery.
