Public Relations 2.0

September 15, 2009 - 1:50:27

Our video content ends up in lots of places - most of which we never could have predicted when we were making the films.

Clips we make for our clients get copied, shared, tweeted and emailed all over the web. It's something we were aware of while building Buto (our online video publishing system) and we built social media sharing into the player.

If your content is interesting, educational, informative or entertaining enough it will travel on its own - building your brand and turning your viewers into your advocates.

In the old model, you have to do your own PR - in the new one: you get everyone to do it for you.

With Facebook's membership topping 200 million users, and Twitter over 30 million - agencies are employing people just to cover social media.

If the MTV generation's attention span was 3 minutes, the Twitter generation’s is 140 characters - it's time to tailor your content to reach these people.
